When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? Using clean makeup brushes is super important, having dirty brushes can lead to breakouts, uneven makeup and can even ruin your brushes. Ideally, they should be cleaned at least once a week to prevent that yucky build up.

Brush cleaners can be kind of expensive when you are using them all the time. So today, I have a makeup brush cleaner recipe just for my beautiful readers.

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp baby shampoo
  • 1/2 tbsp conditioner
  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

If you don’t have any baby shampoo on hand you can use regular shampoo, it is best if you can use a gentle one rather than a harsh type.

Mix all your ingredients together in a bowl then pour into a spray bottle. How clean are your makeup brushes? Check out this easy makeup brush cleaner recipe just for Forever Organised readers.

To Clean Makeup Brushes

Take one of your brushes, spray a small amount of your brush cleaner on each side of the bristles. Avoid the handle area as they are not meant to be wet.

Using a piece of paper towel, rub your brush gently in a circular motion to remove the build up in the bristles. Repeat until no more makeup is coming out.How clean are your makeup brushes? Check out this easy makeup brush cleaner recipe just for Forever Organised readers.

To Clean Beauty Blender

Beauty blenders (or similar) are nifty little reusable makeup sponges and if you have one, you will know how dirty they get.

To clean your beauty blender, rinse first in warm water. Spray a generous amount of your brush cleaner onto the sponge an massage in.

Rinse and squeeze until the water runs clear (this will take a little while).

Pat off excess water with a clean dry hand towel then leave to completely dry.

So, who is going to clean their brushes today?
