My Favourite Organising Products

April 26, 2015
One of the questions I get asked most on the blog is “What are you favourite organising products?”, followed closely by “Where did you buy that?”. So today, I thought I would share my five favourite organising products and where you can find them. This is not a paid post, they are all items I genuinely love and use in my own home.

Containers and Baskets

When organising an area, this is the first thing I look for. My favourite places to buy containers and baskets are Kmart, Big W, Bunnings, Masters, The Reject Shop, Ikea and Dollar Stores. I usually try to find the cheapest option I can because buying tons of baskets can get kind of expensive. Before you buy your baskets, make a bit of a plan and measure your space. There is nothing worse than getting your purchases home only to find they don’t fit in the space.

Day Planner

When it comes to organising my life, this is the one thing I can not live without. I use a Kikki K binder with my own inserts inside. The pink colour binder is no longer available through Kikki K, however they have lots of other great colours on their website and in store. Mine is a Large size which is the equivalent of an A5 planner. My inserts are all custom made to suit my family and needs, these are now available in my online store if you think they would work for you.

Nothing finishes off a great organising job like a pretty label and also helps to keep all your hard work tidy. I have a few different labelling methods I use, depending on the project. My favourite at the moment is making vinyl labels with my Silhouette Cameo. I also make my own labels (you can find the tutorial here) and print onto sticky label paper or print and laminate. I have two label makers which are both fantastic, a Dymo Letratag and an Epson Labelworks 400P, and if I need a quick label, nothing beats some Washi tape and a permanent marker.

I have quite a few caddies which I use all the time, they are perfect for moving lots of items around your home. I have a caddies for my make up (Howard’s Storage World), cleaning products (Kmart), Hazel’s pens and pencils (Howard’s Storage World), tools (Woolworths) and car cleaning (Bunnings).

3M Hooks

Quite often, a 3M hook or adhesive tape is the muscle behind my organising projects. I use them to hang cleaning charts, hide computer cords, hang cleaning cloths, stick baskets inside cupboard doors and put up meal planning frames.

There are so many more that I really love but these are definitely my top five favourite and most used organising products. What are you favourites, I would love for you to share them in the comments.
