Organised Magazine Clippings

October 21, 2014

I am generally a pretty organised person however I believe everyone has that one thing that they struggle to part with. For me, that thing is magazines. I am much better since Pinterest came along however I still buy at least one magazine a week and am really bad a knowing when to let them go.

Today I would love to show you how I store and organise my magazine clippings.

I figure magazines are my one vice so I wasn’t going to give them up altogether however I had to come up with a better system and storage solution. And so, I became a tearer.

As I read each magazine, I tear out the pages I want to keep and look at later. They get tossed into this A4 document box for me to sort through later. Once I am done with the magazine, I pop it in a box to take to my daughters child care centre.

I have 3 x 3-ring binders which I keep all my magazine clippings in. I have divided them into these three categories with sub-categories in each one.

  • Organise
  • Kitchen
  • Living
  • Bathroom
  • Bedrooms
  • Office
  • Kids Rooms
  • Outdoors

  • Kids Parties
  • Adults Parties
  • Christmas
  • Easter
  • Holidays

  • Cooking
  • Parenting
  • Health & Beauty
  • DIY
  • Gift Ideas

Every few weeks I will go through my clippings box and divide the pages into the right binder.

Then if I am looking for a picture or article, I know exactly where to find it.

This system has really helped with my magazine hoarding, I am no longer reluctant to give magazines away because I know everything I want from it is in one of my binders.

Are you a magazine tearer or do you love to hold onto the whole thing? What is your one thing that you really struggle to let go of even though you know you have way too many?

Love this idea! I have too many random clippings from magazines in messy file folders. I am going to pretty them up and make them more enjoyable and accessible to browse by putting them in 3 ring binders too. Thank you for the inspiration!
