{15 Minute Monday} Tea and Coffee

July 30, 2013

Today I am continuing on with my 15 Minute Monday posts. Each Monday I will post an organising task that will only take you 15 minutes to complete. 52 of these throughout the year and we will be well on our way to having beautifully organised homes. Follow along on Instagram or Facebook and together we can organise our homes 15 minutes at a time.

This week we are going to be organising our tea and coffee supplies. If you are a big tea or coffee drinker you will know that all the bits and pieces you need can very easily get out of control. Before you know it, you can end up with half used boxes of tea and coffee floating around everywhere.

All you will need for today’s 15 Minute Monday is some containers or jars to store your tea and coffee and somewhere to put everything. I use that annoying half cupboard above my stove but you could also make a section in your pantry or put them on a tray on your bench.

First you will need to pull everything out of your cupboard and put it on a clean surface. Give the cupboard a wipe out with some warm soapy water.

Go through your tea and coffee and toss anything that has passed its expiration date or is no longer used. Recycle all those empty tea boxes and coffee jars. If you are out of anything, add it to your shopping list.

Next you will need to sort your tea and coffee into jars or containers. We use large jars for our coffee pods, sugar and 2 different types of tea bags. Everything else goes into smaller containers including things like milo, sugar sachets and tea samples

If you are feeling creative, you could whip up some labels using this easy tutorial and stick them onto your containers. I printed mine onto sticky labels then cut them out.

All that is left to do is put everything back into your cupboard. Put the most used items in first in the most convenient location then add the rest of your stash around them.

Now stand back and admire your lovely and organised cupboard. I hope you love it as much as I love mine, I think it makes my morning cup of tea just that little bit sweeter!

Don’t forget to post a picture to my Facebook page or hashtag #15minutemonday on Instagram. If you would like to catch up on previous 15 Minute Monday posts, click these links to see how we organised our cutlery drawer, handbags, hanging closet, email inbox, kids clothes bin and bathroom cleaning.
