Have you gone to do a quick DIY project and spent so much time looking for all the tools and supplies that it has taken twice as long? Yep, Me too!
I found this caddy at Woolworths and thought it would be the perfect thing to get my tools in order.
Our tool organisation isn’t bad, and it is really good when we are doing big projects in the garage. However, it is the little tasks inside that are causing the issues.
To simply hang a picture I would go out to the garage and grab a hammer and a hook, come back inside and realise that I need a tape measure. Return only to find that the hook is too big and I need a smaller one. Sound familiar?
This is a super quick organising task that you can knock over in 15 minutes. First I made a list of all the tools that I use inside regularly.
- Tape Measure
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- Allen Keys
- Staple Gun & Staples
- Small Screwdrivers
- Box Cutter
- Washi Tape & Sharpie (I use these to help hang picture frames)
I gathered up all the tools and popped them into the caddy. I also grabbed a compartment organiser that I had lying around and threw in an assortment of nails, screws and hooks.
How super easy is this project! Now next time I want to hang a picture, fix a loose drawer handle or even change the batteries in one of little H’s toys (You know, the super annoying ones with the screws), I have everything I need at arms reach.
We keep our Tool Caddy just inside the garage door, which means I don’t even have to venture into the cold garage to grab it. You could also keep yours in your linen cupboard, laundry or under the kitchen sink.
How is your tool organisation looking? I hope this makes your next DIY project a little more enjoyable.
