Office Organise

{DIY} Stationery Organisation

May 6, 2013

So I have a little confession to make… I LOVE stationery. Pens, pencils, notebooks, I love them all. My stationery organisation however was a bit on the ordinary side.

The drawer in my mini office is quite shallow and I was having a hard time finding containers to fit perfectly.

I saw this post by Jen from IHeartOrganizing a while back and thought it would be the perfect solution. I spent a good couple of weeks collecting boxes of all shapes and sizes in preparation.

The first thing I did was put the boxes in the drawer and moved them around until they all fitted perfectly. My drawer is 2.5 inches deep so I measured all the boxes and cut them so they were 2.5 inches high.

Next I went through all my stationary and purged what I didn’t need or use. Then I made sure what was left would fit into the boxes. I had to make a couple adjustments to some of the box sizes so I could keep all my ‘like’ items together.

I then taped all the boxes together and started covering. I used wrapping paper however you could use any type of paper. I’m not going to lie, it is really fiddly. Especially using wrapping paper because it tears really easy. I used a glue stick to hold it down but looking back I think glue tape would have been much better.

This project was a bit time consuming but so worth it. I can fit so much more in the drawer and it is all so easy to find. No more digging to find a pen that works or a post it note.

How does your stationery drawer look? Are you a stationery junkie too?
